Anaesthesia Department
A team of anaesthetists is working under the guidance of Dr.Johnpal Sidhu. This team is working dedicatedly since the inception of the hospital.
In Operation Theatres, more than 5000 patients are subjected to Anaesthesia (anaesthetic drug)every year out of which more than 800 patients are from pediatric age group. Concept of day care surgery is inculcated in which patients are operated in the morning & sent back in the evening. Special anaesthetic techniques practiced are
:- NERVE BLOCKS, COMBINED SPINAL EPIDERMAL, PAEDIATRIC REGIONAL ANAESTH ESIA.
Spinal anaesthesia is given with thin bore needles 24/25g in which there is very bleak chance of post spinal headache & backache. In high risk patients & prolonged surgeries invasive monitoring is done addition to routine parameters. Regular pre anaesthesia are being run six days a week.
Intensive Care Management
l.C.U. is managed by Dr. Pankaj Soni leading the team of anaesthesiologists giving 24 hours cover to the critically ill patients. He has vast experience in critical care management from Usha Mission Hospital. We are equipped with 13 bedded main ICU, 6 bedded HDU, 3 Bedded Septic ICU & 3 bedded Burn ICU. All beds in ICU have state of art multipara monitoring and ventilators for respiratory support. There is 24 hours coverage of ICU by intensivists. Patient to nurse ratio in ICU is 2:1 and on ventilator 1:1
Emergency Services
These services are being managed by anaesthetists and surgeonscollectively. Flying squad services are being provided by the doctors & paramedical trained in advanced trauma life support. lCU.ambuIance is pressed into service to rescue accident victims. Resident anaesthetistsattend emergencies effectively round the clock.
